1988 was a seminal year, graduated in the bottom
third of my class at NKU, got married, moved into the first apartment,
add to the mix the founding of the Haunted Trail. I have to admit that
at the time I had been reading way too much Joseph Campbell and thinking
about the disconnected nature of modern life, (such a pretentious young
man). So setting around the kitchen table we dreamed up the Haunted
trail, we may also have been smoking something…memories hazy. To gather
around a fire, share food and drink, laughter, create stories and tall
tales, and scare the bejesus out of each other in an age old tradition.
So now twenty-one years later, fewer pretentions but still dreaming, a
misanthrope with people skills, continuing to build on something that
ties the past to the future. It’s going to be a great Trail this year! |

The Haunted Trail
info was sent to me from Katheryn, but....WHERE is this dreaded trail
located?? Dangling the bloody finger, er, carrot and didn't give me all
the gory details!

First of all, I want to thank
everyone for having us. My first time, I was part of the "Ship of
Ghouls" and had the best time I can ever remember at Halloween! I
can't wait to do it again! We are going to plan early and be there next
year to scare the crap out of everyone! You always go far and
beyond on everything you do there and it is better than any haunted
trail out there because of it! Thanks again, the kids really
enjoyed it this year, their first time. Keep on scaring!! |

WOW- is all I can say- Great
Website and GREAT TRAIL!!.. Ray not sure if you created this but WOW-
I'm an old trail go'er if that is what you want to call me..back in the
day when I worked at O'charley's, I met some amazing friends and these
amazing friends invited me to this really amazing haunted trail back in
1993- so that is when it began- the last year I attended the trail was
in 2001- I gained some nieces and nephews over the past 7 years so
started to hang out with them- I heard abt the trail this year and
spread the word to some of the old O'Charley's gang including John
Czarnecki's wife Mindy - who I still work with but we could not get it
together to make it to the 20th reunion this year- but I will mark my
calendar for next year for sure. I miss Dwight, Ray, Jim, Dean, used to
walk through with Jack- bartender at O'Charley's and Yasu (spelled that
name wrong- but he used to carve the pumpkins in japanese) and all those
guys!.. Dwight if you get this - send me a email - you to Ray!.... I
have so many memories from there.. I loved the leaf blowers with toilet
paper rolls attached so it would blow over the GINORMOUS fire- I was
there for some Christmas tree burning parties and I was there when you
burned the Canoe- boy that was a hot and it melted my cooler..!!.. haha..
I'm sure you have burned many more items since then but those were the
days!. Thanks for opening your woods to all of us!! See ya soon Sherri
